The University of Toronto Libraries is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibition in Robarts Library in February called Beautiful China. The collection of photographs is from the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China. The Consulate General shares the following with us:
“Beautiful China” is the shared vision of the Chinese people for a better life. It lies in both reality and in people’s dreams and lies in both the endowments of nature and the creations of humanity. It needs to be inherited, created, cherished and preserved, and shall remain a solemn commitment and a call for action to both the Chinese people and the Chinese government.
Through the lens of the photographers of China, this exhibition highlights the constant efforts of the Chinese government and its people in building a well-off and well-cultured nation, as well as their efforts to incorporate their respect for nature and eco-friendly consciousness in all perspectives of its national development.
Please join us on February 11, 2014 for the opening of the exhibition.
