Jang Hoon Kim’s Benefit Concert for the UTL Korean Collection

A very well-known South Korean singer Jang Hoon Kim (also known as ‘Donation Angel’ all through South Korea) will hold a benefit performance at Royal Ontario Museum (100 Queen’s Park) on Thursday, December 19th, 2013, at 7:30 pm.

The night will begin with cocktails, followed by 1 hour 30 minutes of Kim’s performance.  All proceeds, except for the expenses including museum rental fees, food, audio and lighting equipment, and operational costs, will be donated to Canadian community organizations.

The proceeds are expected to go towards the University of Toronto Libraries’ Korean Collection (Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library), the City of Toronto, Toronto ALPHA (Association for Learning and Preserving History of World War II in Asia), and The Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids).

Kim, who recently received a recognition plaque from the Toronto City Council for his donations and community contributions to the city, stated “this is the true North American culture in which even small donations are appreciated and recognized with a plaque.”
