How can I read CJK through Internet Explorer?
If you want to read multilingual pages through Internet Explorer, you must install the Input Mangement Editor (IME). Microsoft has four languages supported under CJK, they are:
- Japanese Language Support
- Korean Language Support
- Chinese (Traditional) Language Support
- Chinese (Simplified) Language Support
The install method is relatively simple:

WINDOWS XP/2000/ NT USERS
- Users of English versions of Windows 2000 and Windows XP do not need to download the IME - the IME and the East Asian fonts are provided as standard as part of these operating systems. They are however not installed by default. Here are instructions for installing the IME under Windows XP/2000.

WINDOWS 95/98/ME USERS

Anybody who has en English version of Windows 95/98/ME must download Microsoft Global IME 5.02 to be able to read (and write!) in CJK. to your computer (it will automatically install itself for you at this time. (Choose options with the language packs.)

If you have IME installed and you are still unable to read in CJK, make sure that you have the proper encoding turned on.
- From Internet Explor select the "View" menu item.
- Then under "View" Menu, select the "Encoding" menu.
- Choose the language you want to see. (eg. Japanese)
How can I input CJK characters in Internet Explorer?
- Once you have installed IME (Input Method Editor) to be able to read Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, you will also be able to write in these languages as well.

How can I read CJK through Netscape Browser?
Starting with Netscape 4.7, Microsoft's Global IME is supported. It is however recommended that both Windows and Macintosh users upgrade there Netscape browser to 7.1 or above for full support. Netscape 7.1 can be downloaded here.
How can I write CJK web pages and where can I get a CJK editor?
You need a CJK editor to create CJK web pages, or an add-on CJK system to enable you to use Microsoft editors, such as Word, to input CJK Characters. Here are some CJK editing systems:
