The U of T community now has access to the Area Studies: China and Southeast Asia collection.
This e-resource features a wide array of records from traders, travellers, missionaries, and diplomats from the mid-17th century to late 20th century. The collection offers a Western perspective on Chinese culture and society through British government records on economic development in China (1950-80) and correspondence from the first British diplomatic mission to China (1792-94).
Of interest to scholars in Chinese and South-eastern Asian studies and history, geography, British history, political science, and global affairs.
