The Records of the National Council for United States-China Trade 1973-1983 collection documents the formation of the National Council for United States-China Trade and the role it played in the development of trade and the Council's library holdings relating to China's trade and economy.

The Council was formed in 1973 between U.S. business firms and the People's Republic of China and was meant to facilitate trade. The collection consists of two sub-groups of records: administrative files and Business Advisory Services Department files. In addition to being a source of information about the history of the Council and development of trade, the files have research value in aspects of trade such as shipping, packaging, contract negotiations, banking, inspection, and trademarks. Also, included are files related to U.S.-China relations, China's trade with other countries, and China's history in culture and business practices.
