This is a collection of reviews of Chinese press and translations of radio broadcasts from the Chinese Civil War period. It consists of 13 smaller press collections, and provides a unique opportunity to understand immediate post-World War II Chinese history, comparative revolution, and early Cold War history. Topics covered include military, social, political, and free world history, as well as an analysis of how the Chinese Communist Party achieved victory in the Civil War. Of interest to scholars of East Asian studies, international relations, American studies, history, military history, and media studies.
