On May 9, 2023 the Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library celebrated Asian Heritage Month by hosting a book launch event for the library's new publication titled, "Asian Canadian Voices: Facets of Diversity." With opening remarks given by University Chief Librarian, Larry Alford, Director of the Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library, Hana Kim, and distinguished scholar and educator, Dr. Wei Djao.

The event featured a talk by Dr. Larissa Lai titled, "Risking Recovery: Memory, Imagination, Archive," a thought-provoking discussion that captivates the audience to shed new light on Asian Canadian heritage. Following Dr. Lai's talk is a panel discussion featuring several of the contributing authors: Adrienne S. Chan, Aminur Rahim, Arlene Chan, and Josephine Pui-Hing Wong who shared insights and personal experiences while contextualizing the broader scope and diversity of Asian Canadian culture and identity.
