We are pleased to announce a successful orientation day for the University of Toronto’s Tibetan Studies community, which was held on September 27, 2023 at the Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library. This engaging event took place during the lunch hour and included a scrumptious serving of Tibetan cuisine for all participants.
The Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library was delighted to host the event in person this year with Tibetan Studies Librarian, Kristina Dy-Liacco (University of Toronto Libraries & Columbia University Libraries). The orientation began with an overview of bibliographic resources available to University of Toronto members at the University of Toronto Libraries, with a specific focus on both Tibetan and English language resources. Following the presentation, students were given a tour of the library. This included visiting the Tibetan Collection Room, which houses a collection of rare Tibetan Pecha, traditional Tibetan loose-leaf books.
