This is a large online database of Chinese works complied by
Academia Sinica in Taiwan. It contains very rich contents
that span across Chinese historical classics, Buddhism
scripts, various local gazetteers of Taiwan, as well as
other primary resources on Taiwan and its history.
Particularly, it has an online version of the Encyclopedia
of Taiwan (臺灣文獻叢刊).

The Mandarin Promotion Council ( MPC ), Ministry of
Education in Taiwan is responsible for compiling this
dictionary. It is developed from the table of Chinese
character variants, which was made the Department of
Chinese, National Taiwan Normal University and has been
published for many years. The dictionary was finished on
June 2001, and contains over 100,000 character variants in
total.
The Digital Archive Projects t at Dharma Drum Buddhist
College contains several projects: Scripture and Canon,
Buddhism in Taiwan, Bibliographies, Catalogs and
Publications, Miscellaneous projects, Multi-media Archives,
and Collected Works.
This is a digital archiving project undertaken by the
National Tsing-Hua University of Taiwan that aims at
digitizing and making publicly accessible a batch of
historical records including correspondences, postcards,
calligraphy and painting works, and other archival
materials
dating back to the period when Taiwan was under the
colonial
rule of Japan. Images of the archival documents are
available online in PDF files, and the portal makes it
possible for users to browse and search for the index and
information.
This digital library contains Buddhist bibliographies
(396,555 entries) and a database of 34,930 full text
Buddhist articles in 45 languages and 15 different types of
data.

Elder John Lai's Archives are dedicated to the study of
the history of Christianity in Taiwan with special
emphasis attached to the Presbysterian Church. This
resource is of significant research value for the study of
early history of Christianity in Taiwan. Currently, the
Archives contain three parts: 1. the full text of Prof.
John Lai’s “Kau-hoe-su-oe” 《教會史話》, a collection of
articles on the history of Christianity in Taiwan; 2.
scrapbook files compiled by Prof. Lai, which are valuable
primary sources used for his writings; and 3. Prof. Lai’s
personal bio and family history.
Published semi-annually, the Film Appreciation Academic
Journal (peer-reviewed) was started in 2004 by Taiwan Film
Digital Archives (TFDA). The journal's articles are freely

Formosa is a digital library hosted by Reed College of
Portland, Oregon that specializes in gathering early images,
maps, and texts on the island of Taiwan, which was called
\Formosa\ by foreign visitors in the 19th Century. Scholars
can even find a small sampling of primary linguistic data on
various aboriginal languages collected by early explorers.
Primary source data like this were originally published in
European and North American books and journals during the
19th Century, but have since become hard to access with the
passage of time.

The \Mandarin Chinese mini dictionary\ is a small-scaled
online dictionary especially edited for pupils. It is
comparatively simplified because of considering the word
collections and the expatiations are all suitable for
pupils' use. In using index, users are allowed to input
words to search directly, or search by radicals, strokes
and pronunciations of different Chinese characters.
Besides, there are some words appendixed with pictures for
explanation, so there is also a picture index for users to
query texts reversely, thus it is quite convenient for the

Film Ditial Archives (TFDA). The latest edition can be
downloaded in full-text on the TFDA webiste.
The chief objective of the Taiwan Colonial Statistics
Database lies in the preservation of official statistical
records from the Japanese colonial period. It contains
digitized materials mainly from the National Taiwan
University and National Taiwan Library collections,
including 684 volumes of Japanese colonial statistical
records, 194,075 digital images, and 103,732 sets of
metadata. There are 29 data categories in total, including
law and law-related areas.
